Tafraout One-Day Excursion from Taghazout

Total Distance: Approximately 370 km

Tafraout is one of the top destinations in southern Morocco. A trip to Tafraout means immersing yourself in Amazigh culture amidst breathtaking mountainous landscapes and mystical sites.

Known for its stunning pink granite mountains, Tafraout sits at about 1100 meters above sea level, offering fresh air and lush surroundings including palm groves, argan trees, almond, and olive plantations. In spring, the blooming almond trees transform the valley into a spectacular sight. The local Amazigh people, called Ichelâhiyen, cultivate grains and various fruit and medicinal plants.

Local artisans sell traditional crafts such as rugs, antiques, and the famous multicolored rounded-toe slippers known as babouches. Women wear beautifully embroidered traditional dresses, reflecting a rich cultural heritage.
